Saudi Arabia is a country consisting of majority Muslim population. The location of Saudi Arabia is of great interest as it has neighbors like Jordan Iraq , Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates,Oman  and Yemen which makes up most of the Arab World. Saudi Arabia has the population of 27 million people out of which 16 million are Saudi nationals while 8.8 million are registered foreigners and 1.5 million illegal immigrants. Arabic language is the key language of Saudi Arabia. Apart from that, some other languages are also spoken but of the Arabic origin, like: Arabian Arabic,Arabic language,Bahrani Arabic,Gulf Arabic,Hejazi Arabic,Najdi Arabic,Peninsular Arabic,Saudi Sign Language, etc. Some of the foreigners use English too. Riyadh is the largest city by population. Other than that, some of the other large cities (by population) are Jeddah,Mecca,Medina,Dammam ,Ta'if,Buraydah,Tabuk,Abha and Khamis Mushait. These Saudi cities are full of life and energy and if someone wants to seek a good Saudi life partner, these are the most potential cities to find a suitable Saudi bride/groom for yourself. The Saudi Kingdom is sometimes also known as "The Land of the Two Holy Mosques".
Marriage in Saudi Arabia is quite a process. Bound by the Islamic laws and the strict Shariah-obsessed lawmakers, the country has faced much controversy in the past. Till 2011 Saudi nationals were not allowed to marry foreigners. If a Saudi citizen falls in love with a non-Saudi, the couple might have to go a long, long way before they can get their marriage approved by the Saudi authorities and even more long way to get over all the social prejudice and official discrimination they have to face for marrying a non-Saudi. Although in 2011 the news came out that Saudi government has finally allowed it's citizens to marry a non-Saudi. This new law allowed Saudis to have foreign spouses but stipulated that they need prior approval by a committee. This process could take up to 3 months to decide whether to agree or reject the request. This new law also states that the marriage should be strictly under Islamic laws and both the partners should be free from diseases and should not be drug addicts. It also says that the age gap between the two partners must not exceed twenty five years under any condition. Once this law was passed, many foreigners showed their willingness to marry their loved one's in Saudi Arabia.
Studies have also revealed that most Saudi men prefer foreign brides because of the high cost of dowry and wedding expenses demanded by Saudi women.
Marriage is,without a doubt, considered the most beautiful relation two people can have. Specially in Saudi Arabia marriage is regarded with a delicate eye. Marriage in Saudi Arabia is mostly arranged by the elders of the family if the bride and groom are willing. Mostly the groom's side is represented by his father and his uncles while the womenfolk usually look after the bride and pamper her. If the bride's family has no objection to the proposal, she is allowed to come in front of him to let him take a look. The groom's willingness is then represented by the gifts he would then give to the bride and the bride holds every right to turn them down if she does not wish to move forward with the proposal. Once the pampering is over, the bride's sisters and teh groom's brothers celebrates by singing and dancing in a lavish way.
A small ceremony is then arranged before the actual celebrations some time before where the marriage would be solemnized before a religious Sheikh who is a Islamic magistrate with three witnesses all male or two female and one male. The witnesses are mandatory and no marriage can take place without these witnesses. The groom is then inquired of the Mehr he is planning to give to the bride. The remaining ceremony is spent in a luxurious hotel or club where both the families enjoy a hearty meal. The Saudi bride wears traditional dress known as Zaboun and yashmak, which is embroidered with silver thread and looks incredibly beautiful if worn right. The dress maybe white or of different varied colours. Men wear traditional long dresses with head gear. Sometimes men also wear western clothes or business suits. By the end of the night after the dinner and celebrations are over, bride and groom are escorted to the car by their family and there's a lot of cheering which lasts till late night.
